Cisphobia, especially to the levels I’ve seen it taken, is as bad as homophobia and worse. By putting yourself on their level, you make a bad example of ALL of us. Saying shit like “Die cis scum” and “fuck the ‘cis’-tem” are cisphobic, and guess what? IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU BETTER THAN THEM! IT MAKES YOU AS BAD OR WORSE THAN HOMOPHOBES OR TRANSPHOBES! So, fuck anyone who has ever said anything transphobic, homophobic, cisphobic, or ANYTHING-phobic.

Okay. Just like PoC being “racist”, or womyn being “misandrist” or atheist’ beliefs totally threatening Christianity - “cisphobia” doesn’t exist. There is no worldly oppression of cis folks. Being cisgender/cissexual is held as the norm, as the expected, and ultimately as the demanded. You can’t be -ist against the oppressor, the majority, the demanded. PoC can’t be “racist” against white folks because PoC lack the institutionalized power that white folks have. They can be discriminatory or hateful, but “racism” is not the word.

I agree that some messages - like “die cis scum” - may come off as misguided anger. However, tone policing folks, especially trans* folks who might be saying this, is not cute. That’s an attempt of invalidating their experiences.Just like when PoC say they hate white folks, for the most part, they are expressing anger and hatred of the institutionalized notion that white is right and all the benefits that come with it. With people saying “die cis scum”, I believe, and I only speak for myself as a trans* person, that they are truly saying they hate the institutionalized notions that being cis is the only way to be, the right way to be, that any other gender identity of expression is invalid, wrong, farciful, silly, or invalid, and the way that society gives cis folk benefits and not everyone together.

I understand your point, but it needed to be expanded upon greatly.

Yes, “die cis scum” from what I’ve heard from other trans* folks is an expression of disdain against the cis-tem that marginalizes trans* folks and establishes being cisgender as the default/norm. For me, as a trans*person, it does NOT mean that I want cis folks to be subjected to violence or murder. For me, I want to upend the cis-tem and eliminate cissexism/transphobia. 

Also, I’m an out and proud cisphobic! And I say that as a means of disrupting the cis-tem, not because cisphobia is an actual form of discrimination or oppression. So please do us a favor and do some self-educating before you go tone policing trans*folks, especially those of us who express our anger produced from being oppressed by cissexism, because that helps NO ONE. Understand that folks are entitled to their anger and that oppressors can face discrimination but it does NOT mean the same thing as systemic oppression. 

Self-education is the thing!
